These are my days recently, as normal as they could be, but as wonderful as I can see.

That's our class basketball team! We lost in the game but we never forget how we played together and laugh. Although I was only the camera holder, I can feel those long forgotten feelings of being a team and as a class. Everyone was so excited during that few days of game. Even computer geeks play well! Aha...

After visiting the How To Own A Corner exhibition of Jimmy, I felt great. So glad Jerry took me to that exhibition even though he has already been there once. It's just like being in a different world created out of imagination. I might visit again if it weren't the last day.

I would like to put up so many nice photos and just let them do the writing.

But I decided not to do so because they weren't taken by me.

Lazy me, just need a short pause from studying, sometimes. =P

On 3rd July, I arrived at Fujian, China to join a Chinese Medicine Camp. The weather is extremely hot and humid. Local students told us that this is the warmest period in Fujian Province.

Dreams and Destinations

When I was very little, I dreamt of being an air stewardess, just because I wanted to fly and visit foreign countries. I also dreamt of being a photographer or a journalist that travels in the wild, capturing magical moments of the nature, and share my work with people as in The National Geographic magazine, for example. But now, I am not heading towards either one of these careers. However, I am lucky enough that I already started to enjoy travelling to different countries, even as a student. BIG Thanks to my parents and my university!

If I would create a list of places I want to visit, I doubt I can finish it. There are many images of breathtaking scenery that I have only seen from television screens always on my mind, and I would add my family or myself into it. Then, the imagination goes on......Hopefully these imaginations do come true, one by one.

Recently I read a random blog and discovered a new destination to dream of:

Chomolungma of Mount Everest.

I want to witness the night sky

with countless stars sparkling bright

with my own bare eyes

with all my loved ones by my side.

Good things are meant to be shared, right? = )

One day, I believe, I will set foot on this mountain.

Weekend Fun

A few weeks ago, I went to Jing Si Abode. After approximately 45 minutes of slow- cycling, I reached the place where all Tzu Chi members call Home. I went to the ceramics workshop and was lucky enough to be given the job of glazing little cups.

I enjoyed every moment designing the motifs and applying the glaze. Although it took hours and high concentration to complete each piece, I felt great satisfaction after completing them and managed to sit still for hours with insects feeding on my blood all the time. I have been there for the third time and two of the cups have found their owners, so far. I hope that I will create better designs !

Birthday

Birthday, an important day in our life.

My childhood impression on birthdays : Party, friends, fresh cream cakes, presents,candles and games.
I was very happy if I were invited to a friend's birthday party because I get to wear pretty dresses and have fun with friends and I enjoyed making brithday cards and wrapping presents for them.
As a child, I wanted a birthday party .

But as I grew up, I do not want that anymore.
I've observed how some people celebrated their birthday, which I would not prefer.
Some counted how many people posted "Happy Birthday" on their Facebook wall.
Some claimed themselves an adult but left their mother and aunts cleaning up the mess after their huge "Happy 21st" cake end up on the floor, and they went chasing their friends all over the house, or later went clubbing with friends after the party at home ends.
Some went reminding their friends days before their birthday.
Some built their own happiness on others'pain.
Some made a lot of noise late at night, despite living in a dorm.
Some forced their friends to attend their party.

Once a friend asked me to attend a birthday celebration of another friend, which I was not so close to. I don't want to. I still send my wishes but I just don't want to witness another "cream fight". (I dislike people wasting food). They thought that I was envy as I never had that kind of celebration with a big bunch of friends attending, and promised to organize one for me if I would attend this celebration. Oh dear....=.=

But I have seen some people doing good deeds, spending time with their family happily or changing the world into a better place during their birthday.
Salute! Those people are among the ones whom I respect. I do not mean that everyone should do something great on their birthday, but at least don't create problems on others.

21st Jan: Visiting TIFE was an enjoyable experience. Even if you are alone! Free shuttle bus are frequently available from 8:30 am in 5 different routes to the expo. Directions are clear and I don't even need a map.Just follow the signs. I arrived at the Xinsheng Park area around 8:40 am and I could hardly see the ending of the que.

After queuing for half an hour, I bought my ticket at NT$200. I could have save the time if I used the Easy Go card to enter the Expo but I didn't have that much credit in it. Anyway, a ticket can be kept as a souvenir. The rain gradually went away later that morning and I had a great tour for the whole day on my own!

Notice the daily effort behind such a huge expo? Imagine how many people work in the maintenance department.

At first I was wondering around, looking for Que-free pavilion. This was be the most stupid idea to have. It is almost impossible to avoid long ques no matter which pavilion you're visiting. I started queuing up for Pavilion of Future from the sign that states: "waiting time: 120 minutes". Luckily, the statement was not true. I only waited for 60 minutes to get into the pavilion. How to kill the 60 minutes when you have no company? I ate my bread pinch by pinch , drank coffee sip by sip very slowly, watched the couple in front of me playing with their baby, the children on school trip jumping around....oh well, just watching other people and observing their behaviors and counting the aeroplanes that flew by (I lost count). Bring along a book is a good idea because half of the time will be spent on queuing.

This "Dancing Plant" was suppose to respond to the vibrations from the built-in speakers, but people thought that the plant will respond to any kind of sound that they kept clapping so happily. When they are tired of clapping, they leave, and another crowd came and did the same.

Next I went to the Pavilion of Angel Life. The spatial design of the architecture is delightful. The ques takes about 15 minutes, to watch an animation and some visual art exhibition. The atmosphere is peace and calm. The guides who call themselves Angels gave a good description about the concept of this Pavilion but it is fully in Chinese Language.

I had Chocolate cream-puffs as my lunch and went to the Palace of Flora Teas. It was the Lin An-Tai Historical Residence, a traditional house aged 200 year-old. Photography lovers would love this place! Guided tour is available at 2pm by an old volunteer, who studied Engineering. Detailed explanation in mixed Taiwanese Language and Chinese Language about every detail and structure of the house was given. My camera battery went low and I only took photos using my mobile phone. I asked random visitors to take photos for me using my phone and one of them, holding a professional camera, took my photo with his BIG camera and emailed it to me. How nice. At 3 pm, a tea ceremony was held.

I did not went into the Pavilion of Dreams, unless I knew earlier, that I have to que for a ticket at 4am. Maybe next time?

Next, I visited the Dajia Riverside Park Area. there were some themed outdoor gardens designed by different designers or city councils. There were 5 mascots cycling or walking around, entertaining tourists. I took picture with 3 of them, which one, dressed in red, like to chase after young teenage girls. It ended up that the young girls ran away or screaming "Metamorphosis" at him. He tried to scare me too, but I remained calm and gave almost no reaction, and he went off scaring other girls nearby. Ha ha, this was fun! Later I went back to him and have a picture of us choking each other.

From Dajia, I took the free shuttle to Yuan Shan Park Area. I went to the EXPO Theater,but there were no more tickets available since 2pm. So was the Taipei Story House. Lastly, I visited the EcoARK,which was built using 1.5billion recycled PET bottles. Fashion shows are held there during 4pm and 7pm, until 15th Feb. Visitors are given a guided tour in this Pavilion of New Fashion.

I went back to W Hostel to get my luggage around 8pm and headed to Bei Tou.

It is a week before Christmas.

I bet all of us looked forward to this celebration annually since we were a little child. I remembered that I used to hung one of my socks in my room, and hid my "Letter to Santa" in it. I would leave the sock hanging for days, thinking that Santa might need more time to arrive as it is a very long way from his home. Ahaha....sweet childhood dreams.

I grew up in a tropical area.Watching Christmas cartoons and movies every year makes me dreaming to go to a place with snow some day. Now, although it still won't snow here, I am happy that the weather is cold enough to make me sick. =P I miss swimming, but it's too freezing cold in there!
Snuggling under the covers and listening to Christmas carols is my new hobby now (temporarily).

Christmas comes with blessings and happiness.

Wouldn't it be nicer if everyone give a little love away everyday in stead of saving it all for Christmas day? How many people in this world, are so needful and praying for love.

How many people in this world, are sick and fighting to live an extra hour.

Christmas come and go, but love lives on, as long as we give on.

We went there after watching a Jazz music performance. It took us one hour to reach there.

It was raining all day long, but in the end my wish (for the rain to end when we finish our dinner)came true!

We get the chance to enjoy the picturesque night scenery.

This was a memorable day as it was 11/22 , for room 1122 ^ ^

We had little cakes with "candles" (toothpicks, actually) twisted into"1122". Sadly I don't have the photo.

Secret of My Love

This previous year, I have learned how to love myself with all my heart. Being alone is not a fear for me anymore . At times, I enjoy immersing myself in tranquility and peace of being alone. I found myself having "friendship" but end up ill at ease in the past. Without sufficient understanding of myself, relationships was my everything, my centre of daily life. I would sacrifice my own needs for the other person and consider things for the other person before I did for myself, which is not the best thing to do because others would not realise or appreciate. Disappointment and negative feelings haunted me. However, there's nobody else to blame as these were all caused by myself for not truly loving myself. I decided to change, and my choice was right.

I like accompaniment of great friends, but I also enjoy freedom. I go where ever I wish to go to, eat whatever I desire and do whatever I feel like doing. It is my time. I enjoy it. A few of my classmates might have noticed that I am a little different from who I was in the past two years. Some noticed that I started dressing myself up especially during weekends and asked if there's anything for them to gossip about. (Gossip, is that a healthy hobby? =P) Once my classmates even thought I was some one's (from our class)new girlfriend from other faculty when they saw me. Yes I am different now,because I found my true self. Maybe not completely yet, but I can feel my energy and confident springing up from within again. I will never throw away my self-esteem for somebody else anymore.

What I am doing now is easy but has greatly improved my well being. Just enrich and love myself well. You can make it too. You just have to appreciate yourself first before you appreciate somebody else who are worth to be appreciated. We come to this world alone, we will leave this world alone. Being alone is nothing to fear of. Some might think that others have the ability to provide them with happiness but remember, one day they might also take it away, because it belong to others. So why not create them yourself?

Yesterday, I took a nap at around 8 pm, but slumbered till dawn after putting my alarm off. That's not bad at all because I enjoyed an-hour-long breakfast at the balcony watching daybreak after my 10-hour sleep. The sky was more charmingly seen with bare eyes than in these pictures. You will know what I meant if you gaze at the sky more often. Watch how the angles sculpture this piece of art everyday. This is a good way to start a nice day~ = P

I still remember that was not long after our school's founder, Father Julien passed. Our coach told us to sang with all our heart for our beloved Father. Oh that memory......

"Inter-examination " Period

I did badly in the anatomy test yesterday although I put more effort in revision compared to the previous examination. As usual, those on the top started telling others how few questions they got wrong right after the answers were given. Duh. Discouraged, I went for dinner alone. I met one of my 4th year senior while having dinner and she comforted me. After dinner, she bought me some chocolates and that cheered me up. Thanks to her, I managed to concentrate on studying the next BIG examination - Neuroanatomy.

I found that feeling bad about what you have done badly does not help anyway. Thinking and worrying about what will happen soon in the future and continue worrying is a waste of time too. So what to do is to grasp the time do the best. Try to find the solution and work hard on it.

Today, I made my revision in class after lunch. But I was distracted by my classmates, and my earplugs were not working. =( It is so difficult to concentrate in the classroom with people walking in and out, chatting, eating, wondering and sleeping on and off, but how can those who study there are those who were always among the top in class?

Winter Vacation Camp Poster Draft

There will be a camp on 20th-23rd January 2011 in Tzu Chi University. It's about global warming and what we can do to slow it down. There will be talks by professors and ideas by participants. We don't just talk, we act. The mode of transport will be by bicycle or by foot. Registration will be open soon, to all international students in Taiwan (30 early birds only).

This is the draft of the poster( although printing poster is not environmental friendly =(....I still have to do this). I wish this poster will convey the message: if we do nothing, we will be in the line of extinction (hooray! no human = no pollution) =P. There's no title for the camp yet and need discussion for details of the camp.

I Think I am in Love

This is the fourth week of my third year in medical school. The second BIG EXAM was over yesterday morning, followed by a four-hour lecture in the afternoon. Tiring? I would say I don't have the right to. Our assistant professor was in the anatomy laboratory setting examination questions for us until after 11pm on Sunday night and there she was, standing for 4 hours lecturing us the next afternoon. Today she was absent. I miss her. Hope she gets well soon.

Back to the topic. I realised I have a strange feeling since the end of summer vacation. While others grizzled that "the imprisoning third year" is approaching, I expected it and looked forward to it, which I did not during my first two years. It is a tug-of-war between my physical strength and self motivation to learn about human body. No doubt the load is heavy but I found the "architecture" fascinating. As long as I am not weary (or lazy), I am happy to study. I enjoyed the laboratory work too, although the chemicals choke(especially on the back of head). So far, clean tendons on the back of hand and arachnoid mater of the spinal cord are my favourite. My first reaction was: "Wow look how beautiful they are!" What a freak. Yes, but this is what I truly felt. I never tell that I enjoyed these in front of my classmates whom majority were complaining or even cursing ( due to the stress I suppose) continuously. I would just smile and say: "加油!"

What we were doing during typhoon

Early in the morning, our dorm committee member woke me up, yelling: " Wake up people! 11th floor is flooding!!! take your blankets or school uniform, get out and block the water!!!" This is ridiculous, I thought, how can 11th floor flood? I went to the corridor and it was just an exaggeration. There was no flood, just a small pool of water on the floor but the windows were at risk of being blown up.

We spent our night studying for the next day's examination at the corridor. A group of around ten committee members came and gambled whole night through at the end of the corridor in front of the elevator and made a lot of noise. They were extremely angry when somebody told them that we used the electricity to cook our dinner for 15 minutes and threatened that they will get those who used the electricity a demerit. We have no idea why using electricity was wrong. How silly.

Ignore them, we had an enjoyable night!=D

Typhoon Fanapi will arrive at Hualien County this afternoon. Dad called, for the first time( or the 2nd?) since I entered university. His voice sounded worried but tender, reminding me to take care. What's so special? Mum and I had conversations so often but I never wrote about it. Hey that's not fair! Well, it's not that I don't appreciate mum's call but daddy's call is so so so rare. Anyway, phone calls from home are lovely and as they always do, made my day bright and beautiful. =D Hope you have a nice day too!

9月14日, 我只從凌晨一點半睡到5點, 而且還是自然醒. 奇怪了, 考試都沒那麼利害. 我們女同學都要綁馬尾, 我一醒來就開始洗頭, 嘗試把我那厚到爆炸的獅頭馬尾弄整齊. 去到講堂, 惠生發現他的皮鞋鞋底整個與鞋身分開. 可是我跟學長們不熟, 想幫忙他打電話求救也只敢打一位學長的電話, 而且打了沒人接(誰會那麼早起來...), 還好最後他借到了. 時間到, 老師來催了, 我們才開始打掃, 彩排. 第一次見到老師, 就是彩排瞻仰遺容走位的時候. 我和延樺負責掀開老師的往生被, 這是我第一次掀往生被呢, 感覺有點榮幸. 這種感覺會不會奇怪呢?

儀式開始, 每一組陸續上台分享老師生前的故事. 那時候就有看到有一些老師的家屬在拭淚. 有一些家屬還真辛苦, 老師往生的時候傷心一次, 我們去拜訪的時候, 向我們講老師的故事落淚一次, 來參儀式又落淚一次. 一起吃午餐的時候, 師母說她昨晚都沒睡好. 老師的妹妹, 我們稱姑姑, 很開朗, 我想老師生前應該就是像她一樣吧.

誦經的時候, 我並不覺得像學長姐所說的那樣痛苦, 時間過得多慢之類的, 我覺得很好阿...瞻仰遺容的時候, 老師的女兒也來了. 請家屬瞻仰遺容的時候, 馬上聽到有人在哭嚎. 由於我面向的方向, 只看到師母兩眼通紅的從對面走過來, 沒發現姑姑已經在我身邊哭得很悽慘....我還真的嚇到了, 尤其是她哭到跪下去的時候, 我該阻止, 還是讓她好好哭一場呢?我不知所措, 我心裡一直oh no, oh no怎麼辦, 怎麼辦?我就靜靜的扶著她, 還好精舍師父和師姑媽媽們都靠過來安慰她. 同組的同學眼眶也紅了. 我覺得老師往生那麼多年了, 現在應該已經成為小菩薩了, 所以我不會傷心啦......感恩老師舍身, 也祝福老師的家人健康平安快樂.

經過半天的啟用典禮, 我覺得我們的責任很大, 真的要好好努力學好. 太多人為我們的學習做太多事了 ! 舉個小例子, 典禮前夕, 老師和懿德爸媽還留下來我們燙衣服. 感覺真不應該....我們都幾歲了..連這種小事都....唉....

典禮完畢還有點心讓我們帶回去. 大家都回了, 我直接把皮鞋脫下來穿著襪套走回宿舍. 因為借不到合腳的鞋, 為了尊重場合還是穿了, 腳痛....哈......沒氣質...

Nasi Kerabu(assorted vegetable rice) at Tomyam Hijau(a Malay restaurant in Penang located between JPJ & Cosway)Good food, cheap and very friendly staff. The faint blue colour of coconut-flavored rice comes from a type of flower called Bunga Telang, which once grew in the backyard of my childhood home.

Bucharest Day 2,3,4

Sorry for the delay of this post. This is my second night at home and I could not sleep. Is it because I am travelling to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow? Whatever, lets finish this last post about Romania.

Day 2

The plan was to visit around the southern part of the city.

It was around 10 in the morning and I went walking down Calea Victoriei, passed the National Art Museum, and the renovating Doamnei Church. Then I walked through Pasajul Villacros Arcade, which has curved arcade and glass roof, one of the reason why Bucharest clamed itself as ''Paris of the East''.

The National Bank of Romania (Banca Nationala a Romaniei ) established in year 1880 has an architecture style of the late 19th century. The Bank was not open, it's Saturday.

Next I went to Stravopoleos Monastry

The Old Court's Church. This couple kept kissing every few steps on their way into the church. "It's just another church. They are all the same here." says the guy.

My ticket for the tour in Palace of Parliament.......just a little piece of paper scribbled by the lady at the information desk.

Tourism in Palace of the Parliament - poorly organized. Normally a tourist will have to go there twice, if you want to take a tourinside the building. Never trust the out-dated website about the tour. To take the tour, you have to call to make a reservation on that morning you plan to visit. They wouldn't allow you to make reservations even a day before. Try talk to the unfriendly and hot tempered operator early in the morning, after calling around 20 times within an hour before someone answers your call. The cheapest tour costs 25 RON(around 6 euro). The most expensive "complete" tour costs 45 RON, which lasts one and a half hour, allows you to visit 5% of the entire building. Why suffer and pay so much for only a visit into this building? Students get free admission. That's what kept me waiting, although unhappy about the services. There are only 2 such tours in English per day, each consisting 40 people only. No photos are allowed unless you pay another 30 RON. None of the faces there looked happy. Everyone were a suspect of being a terrorist in the Palace. Surrender your passport to the guard, get scanned and hang a tag around your neck before you enter. You can never go to the washroom without the tourguide's permission or you will get scolded. There was a Japanese couple. The husband was caught by the tourguide walking away alone. The tour guide yelled at the wife with big eyes:"Where is he going?!"

"Er...Toilet.."

"Tell him to come back! He is NOT ALLOWED to enter there alone!!!"

The guide took us to the basement to look at the...pipes? There are only a few posters about the construction history of the building hanging in the dark. You better not read it unless you want to spoil your eyesight. Even the guide doubt the purpose of visiting the basement. "There are two empty rooms over there if you wanna see." and she really mean it. EMPTY.

These two lovely grandma took me there. Old ladies like to walk you to where ever you want to go. They don't speak English at all, but they are really kind,cute and friendly! Walking at their pace is another type of fun you can enjoy here.

Bucharest Day 1

Last night in Craiova, I slept really late at around 3. This always happen when I'm going to leave a place for a long time. After breakfast with Signe, I sat whole morning to surf the net about Bucharest until 11, I phoned Oana to ask for my certificate and at 12 noon, I finally got my certificate.I went for lunch and left the dorm at 12:25pm in a cab. Hamzah helped me carried my luggage and I was so worried that I couldn't catch the last train to Bucharest, which is at 12:40pm. The traffic is slow. Anyway I managed to buy a ticket with student price and dragged the big luggage onto the train about 2 minutes before the train depart. Lucky me, I get the student price ticket that only local students with discount coupon can have. That was the same-one-and-only ticket lady in Romania who gave discount by referring to my International Student ID.

The train is new. But I prefer the old type because they have windows and the seats have more cushion. The new train has poor air conditioner and no fresh air from outside. Passengers were sweating and fanning themselves. I tried to take a nap but the heat was unbearable. Finally after 5 hours, I arrived at Gara de Nord, took the bus no.178 to Cismigiu Station and walked to Butterfly Villa Hostel under the burning sun(although it was already 5 in the evening)

I visited the Romanian Anthenium with an entrance fee of 6 lei. The hall is about half the size of Dewan Sri Pinang but wow, the interior is really spectacullar! An old man working there said former president of U.S.A. , Bush was here. That was the only thing I understood because he don't speak English. I passed the University Library, Royal Palace, National Theatre of Bucharest and the School of Architechture. They were not open for visitors. However I sat outside the Theatre because there was a small brass band playing. Rehearsal for the concert in September, I guess.

The young guard of the Theatre saw me sitting outside and came sit opposite me. I was erasing some bad photos while enjoying the music and he just sat there. After around 10 minutes he finally spoke: "Can I help you with something?" "No, thanks. I'm just sitting , resting." We chatted I little and he said that he is not happy staying in Romania and wish to go overseas for better life. "People here are bad! You think they are good because you no stay here, that's why they good to you." I tried to encourage him however, and wish him good luck. Then I went to Enei Church, which was built using one day's time.

At about 8:30pm, I went to Green Hours Jazz cafe for a small concert "Bachelor Party Gig". They have Sebastian Burneci on trumpet, Catalin Milea on saxophone, Arthur Baloghon contrabass, Andrei Tudor on piano,Ruben Steijn on percussion, and George Dumitru on guitar. It was enjoyable but I left at 11pm, for the sake of security walking back to hostel alone.I actually planned to take a photo with the players, especially the saxophonist, after the concert's over....Never mind. =)

7 hours in Bucharest now. Sport cars were easily seen on the streets at any hour. Any type. Cool!

Now here I am safe in the hostel, will go to bed after rearranging the plans of my trip tomorrow more precisely. Will upload photos other day.=)

Sinaia, Bran & Brașov

122km from the capital city Bucharest, Sinaia is famed for its amazing mountain scenery and castles. Travelling by train since 2 am on Friday, we finally arrived Sinaia at around 11am, not to mention the always- late(at least half-an-hour) railway service. I went with other exchange students from Cluj. We took a minibus to the train station and found the castle as one team. The castle sets in a large English fashioned park is built for Carol I between 1875 and 1833 and named after Peleș River. It is largely decorated by the Queen, Elisabeta(also know as novelist Carmen Sylvia) who spent most of her time making embroidery, painting, and writing after their princess died at age 4. We bought our tickets and went for a 45-minute guided tour inside the castle. Sorry I don't have any photos of the castle's interior because 32lei (around RM32/NT$320)will be charged for taking photos and 52lei for videos.

Inside the castle, there is a 16m-high Reception Hall, 160 rooms, some with fantastic walnut carvings, furnished in Turkish style, French style, Romanian style, Armour room full of collections from all around the world, Florentine Hall with kitschy Murano chandeliers, Romania's first cinema of 60 seats, music room with a 360-years-old harpsicord and antique grand pianos, marble statues, large mirrors and all kinds of luxury items and decorations which exceeds my imagination. At night, I missed the party (drinking and dancing) at the retaurant of our motel because I slept.

The next morning, we went to Bran, a small town situated 28km southwest of Brașov. We visited the Dracula's Castle(Muzuelui Castel Bran) built by the Saxons of Kronstadt between 1377and 1382.

Livi said :""Wow you are so brave! I would never dare to ask random people for pictures like you! " Nah, I'm not brave, just wanted to do something wierd.

University of Craiova provided us free breakfast, set lunch and coffee or tea during weekdays. Almost every meal is served with bread, sliced or half a loaf. My contact person, Mirona requested vegetarian food for me. Normally, the choices are meat, mainly chicken and pork. I haven't seen cooked vegetable here, so all I had was salad when I was out for meals with others.

My first Romanian lunch. Sour soup, chicken and rice, pancake with honey. I tried to eat the chicken but I can't do it. The rice is something between chinese porridge and rice, a little wet but tasty.

Sorry for the delay of this post. Let's continue the story =P

Early in the morning, Rob, the owner of the hostel took me to the bus stop(there's no sign indicating that. You have to ask a local.) for a bus to tour around Maramures. Unfortunately, I need to wait until 11am for the first bus to depart. So I visited the town while waiting. Later, when I went to ask about the bus, I met a scout from Paris, Caroline, who wants to visit to the same destination. I asked if I could join her and her group and she agreed. I went for lunch at the restaurant which I failed to find the night before.

Supa pui cu galuste(Chicken soup with vegetables) is their best selling food.

After lunch, I visited the brigde to Ukraine. The guard walked me until the border. What is the feeling of stepping on a country's border if you ask me? Nothing special. The police wouldn't allow me to take picture so I can only take a picture from where he can't see me.

I met the scouts at 3 pm and we went to Barsana Monastery together. Leader of the group, Caroline, first face from right.

After visiting, we waited and tried hitch hiking for hours in the rain to get to Sacel, but none of the cars are going there. Finally there was a minibus heading that direction but the scouts decided to stay in Barsana and return to Sighet the next morning. I got on the bus in a rush, with my email halfway typed in Caroline's phone...... I miss them, since I got on the bus...

Maria has a milk cow and two pigs beside the dining room. Her husband squeezed fresh cow milk on us ( and our camera). My favourite was the mint tea Maria made!

I left Maramures later that afternoon after visiting the ceramic craftmen's house. Alin, a senior law student going back to his university in Cluj to prepare for license examination drove me to Cluj and I catched my train back to Craiova the next morning.

Sitting in front of the laptop for almost the whole day, I finally found a movie worth watching.

Why do so many people busy doing something called " searching for true love" while treating people at home who love them so meanly? Being able to spend time together with family is the best thing ever. Doing charity work does sounds noble but first we should to treat our family best. Trust, share and listen. I don't know, things are beyond I can describe, and I am really lazy to talk about it. I realised that I'm becoming more and more quiet as I grow up, keeping thoughts unspoken, and enjoy observing. Anyway, blah, I enjoyed this movie and enjoyed my day.=)

Despite the long distance, I was travelling on my own for the first time officially to Sighetu Marmatei, a small city with it's centre 1km away from Ukraine border.

The trip started on 22th June 2010- Craiova to Sighetu Marmatei

The first night was spent along the railway, with a guy from the same compartment named Marian who stayed awake whole night. He is a kind person although he doesn't look like one and is quite talkative. Maybe he's just too bored. He asked me to change my seat away from the door of the compartment or my bags will get stolen and he sat by the door(guarding) whole night. I doesn't really remember what we talked about because I was trying to get some sleep, but I remembered that he showed me the big tatoo of a dragon on his back, although I tried to make him not to. Duh. Taking a night train was a wrong decision as there is no announcement about stations or destinations and frequent delay of time, you have to be alert whole night, counting the stations and looking for their names. Thanks to Marian, who asked other passengers about which station we have passed, woke me up 10 minutes before I have to get down from the train and open the manual door with a lot of strength (He is muscular, not weak. Gee these doors are not designed for ladies to open) for me to get off the train. After waiting for about half an hour in an empty station at Razboieni, I continued my journey and finally reached Sighetu Marmatei at noon. Found Cobwob's Hostel and checked in.

In the afternoon, I cycled around 18 km to Sapanta to visit the Merry Cemetery and the 78m tall wooden Peri Monastery nearby which is surrounded by forests.

After cycling another 18km, I was back to Sighetu Marmatei. I cycled to find a restaurant recommended by the Rough Guide book. However, I think I missed a turn and ended up lost, cycling on a pebbled road to no where. Having a map is not helpful as many of the roads here have no signs of their names. I asked two ladies in their middle age, who are English illiterate. One of them offered to show me the way. I tried to tell her that I wanted to go to the town center and kept showing her the map but she led me to an old building with a big electrical metal door. My sign language just does not work on her I don't know why. She insisted that I stay with her or something I don't know, but the place does look creepy. Scenes of kidnapping from movies came into my mind (yes I ha.ve crazy imaginations) I tried to leave after thanking her again and again but she wouldn't let me go. After an hour of tourment in communicating and walking on roads without lights, I finally saw a road sign indicating the direction to the town center. So again, I told her I'm going away. She grabbed my guidebook and wrote her number and her address for me, and asked for my phone number. I didn't gave her, of course. Hungry and exhausted, I find my way back to the hostel and bought a bun from a petrol station's mini market. That was my dinner.

15th July - Craiova Churches(1)

This morning all of us went to the immigration for some paperwork, with Adrian, one of our contact person. He had done most of the work actually. I bet the officer will not be able to recognize me because I did not even see him/her or know who he/she is. The immigration office was at the other part of the city which I have not been to and there were many Gypsies. They were watching us, and so were we watching them.

Shakira - Gypsy

I was immersed in Romanian songs for one whole week and my favourite so far is Gypsy - sang by Shakira, a Lebanese-Colombian star who won 2 Grammy Awards, 7 Latin Grammy Awards and 12 Billboard Latin Awards. Speaking of Gypsies, they are the first thing that pop up most Europeans; minds when they talk about Romania. However some Romanian students were not proud about that The perception towards gypsies are theft and pick pockets, which is why Romanians look down on gypsies. We exchange students were even warned by local students not to speak "the G word" so much or we might get into danger. Whatever, this is quite a nice song, hope you enjoy it!

Day 3 in Gastroenterology Department

Today was officially the last day I am going to Gastroenterology Department. At 10 am sharp, Professor Adrian stepped in, with a black briefcase. After a couple of minutes, he was ready in his scrubs and briefed me about the procedure I will see as we waited for the anaesthesiologist to come. Endoscopy and ultrasonography were performed to 3 patients from 10am to 1 pm. I witnessed the procedure and professor explained where which organs were on the screen and showed me the difference of a cancerous gastric wall from a normal one in ultrasonography.Later, two endoscopic ultrasound were performed. I saw almost all the organs in the abdomen and three hours of standing and watching was fun enough for me!

The camera on the ceiling are for students to watch doctors and professors performing the procedure from another room. I was so lucky to get the chance of standing beside the professors and watch!

Unfortunately I only remembered two names out of three which I was introduced to*Bad student*: Dr. Radu(second from left), Professor Adrian(fourth from left), he is also the the director of the University. The anaesthesiologist is on my left and on my right is the nurse. They are all very friendly, especially Professor Adrian who kept explaining what we see on the screen to me, who has zero knowledge about looking at those images. They were smilling most of the time when they speak, joking with each other and I am glad that my contact person arranged for me into this happy department!

Labwork filled all my free periods for the whole week, inhaling xylene and wax for hours and hours. Witnessed a graduate student from another lab sacrificing cute white mice. Pinched on the posterior of neck....and goodbye. Eww....

Each day I went to the lab, my tutor kept commenting on my trousers, that they are too short, and made fun of my hair, that it looked like a coconut shell from the front and my head shaped like an inverted triangle from the side. Duh, whatever....I am used to people making fun of my looks.

12th June - Convocation! Congratulations to Kian Hwee! Congratulations to all seniors!

Such a pity I just met Shin Lun, Yu Khoon, Yu Hsuan and did not manage to congrat the rest of them. There was just SO many people and umbrellas! However back in our family, we were so happy and excited waiting for Kian Hwee in the rain and had lunch together at Jimmy's after Kian Hwee went for lunch with his family. ^ ^

Next up - Finals! Hopefully I can sleep normally, concentrate and perform at my best this time!

Believe it or not, just a simple click and I have brighten up a friend's day!

I was just sending a link to my best buddy in hometown. Just a normal sharing which I did not even pay much attention on. Surprisingly, my friend replied and thank me for I am the first to make him smile after some unhappy issues he faced. I felt great of course, for it has been a long time I did not make someone else happy. To rejoice somebody unintentionally does feel GREAT, especially someone important in your life. I would also like to thank everyone who supported me, accompanied me, encouraged me or even hurt me, as your small actions made me who I am today. Spread your happiness to others, especially your love ones! Everybody can do something nice, significant or not, and tomorrow will be a better day for all!

As the person in charge of designing posters and certificates, I would like to inform all my friends about two upcoming events in June.

First, the above is not a poster. Its just a picture to put in face book's event creator. This is the first farewell party for Tzu Chi University International Students' Club. The event will be held in Azure Hotel, Hualien, Taiwan. All members of Tzu Chi University International Students' Club are invited and partners are welcomed. It will be our first prom-like farewell party!

This is the poster for Tzu Chi University Wind Band's Mini Concert happening on 7th June, conducted by Miss Ma. Many might question the existence of a wind band in our university, but yes, there is one, founded this semester. The original band dismissed last year. Now our band consists of freshmen and sophomores. About 50% of us are beginners, including me on Tenor Saxophone. I am not a real beginner actually, just switching form Alto Saxophone to Tenor because my group members prefer playing Alto. This event will be a small presentation of our hard work reforming and running a new band. We will have lower brass players from National Dong Hwa University joining this performance as we still could not find constant lower brass players in our university. Our little hearts hope that our friends will come support us and the performance will go smooth. Estimated duration for this mini concert is 40 minutes, featuring ensembles and full band music.

It was around 6 when I woke up. A little unusual for me to get up so early without an alarm after a four-hour-sleep. I tried to get back to sleep but I could not. So, I decided to walk to the balcony for some fresh air while sipping up my mug of warm water. There it was, a gift for getting up early - a view of the clear blue sky!

禮拜五的下午, 詠尹陪著我參加"周會"(其實是玩遊戲), 浪費了我們一個小時. 大家都笑嘻嘻的, 那些""遊戲" 很合大家程度? 真不懂, 強迫我們出席, 玩遊戲背後的目的是什麼? 唯一有意義的是見證詠尹的義氣. 明明沒有內涵的活動, 卻硬要拖時間, 不出席還得被記曠課, 真是無奈.

一隻狗, 被當成人類的小孩養...很好命嗎? 不一定喔, 看看下圖這隻狗, 好可憐...還要學人走路?!

晚上, 媽媽陪我為明天外語志工導覽課"我的慈濟因緣"主題做準備, 挖出了許多從小到大在慈濟的照片...一直做到凌晨...

5歲到現在...15年了.... 我還真有福報!

回想起來, 在慈濟幾乎什麼都做過: 推銷員(賣大呆), 舞蹈員, 表演唱歌, 手語, 服務生, 垃圾婆, 小教具, 免費搬運, 免費清潔工, 竟然還有封面女孩....

漸漸長大...

在慈濟裡長大, 學會了很多, 得到很多

連十一針的傷疤也是, 哈!

想著想著

發現長大後發生的事情, 遇見的貴人, 大多都因為小時候就在慈濟裡有關

很難想像, 媽媽當時若沒有要幫阿公找退休後的活動, 我的今天會是怎樣

因為準備這個, 更深深覺得自己很幸運, 很好命, 很幸福!

Presentation 過後, 得知原來葉老師也是在慈濟教書教了15年, 韻芹進慈大的辛酸史(她哽咽著講到完), 還有其他同學感人的慈濟因緣. 由於大家都必須用全英文發言, 所以有些故事內容不是很聽得懂, 我自己說的時候也有一段腦袋裡都是中文, 擠不出英文字, 還忘記 " humanitarianism", 竟讓在台上 "hu....humanitar ..ra..aaa....hu..hu...." 惹得大家都笑了. 這就是不寫講稿的下場啦!

下午, 去創意文化園區看傳播系的 "95正傳"

感覺作品的品質差別的 range 蠻大的

其中逼出我熱淚的就是"孝話"

作者能夠在短短的時間內把片子弄得那麼感動, 還真不簡單

整體感覺很好, 抓的畫面能觸動人心

最近幾個禮拜, 我發現我染上了環保癖
不知有多少次, 有想要買飲料的慾望, 可是每次想到的時候身上都沒有帶水瓶, 就不買了
也好, 省錢. 上課快遲到了, 外帶早餐? no no , 遲到就遲到, 內用好了, 不會製造垃圾. 我發現我們一天都制造很多垃圾, 就單三餐加起來幾個便當盒, 塑料袋, 吸管, 紙杯, 塑料杯....下課後同學們就愛一袋袋亂丟. 減少垃圾, 只要有原則, 相信店家是會樂意配合的. 出去外面吃的時候, 如果忘了帶環保筷, 我寧可用湯匙吃麵. 雖然速度比較慢, 只要把面切短一點, 沒有筷子一樣可以吃, 而且還能一小口一小口細細品嘗,有夠享受的! ^ ^ 市民小站的姐姐已經認得我不用竹筷吃早餐. 有一次我和同學點了同樣的東西, 姐姐附了鐵湯匙給我, 不過沒有給我同學. 我不用竹筷也是在幫店家省成本啊, 姐姐當然也樂意. 沒帶杯子,我就不喝店裡的飲料, 除非店裡有提供reusable的杯. 這裡飲食實在很方便, 外帶更方便, 回收桶也很常見,但是這樣就可以拼命用了丟嗎?
今天工讀的時候姐姐叫我碎紙. 一整箱的紙. 我看見很多紙都是單面的, 或者是整張紙只用了一小個角落. 我了解很多個人資料是不能外洩,要碎掉, 我把雙面的通通碎掉, 讓後整理出單面的,把有人名的小部分剪掉, 剩下大部分的紙,都已經沒有人名或資料.心想可以要求姐姐讓我拿回去當筆記紙用.姐姐說不行,雖然沒有人名了, 還是有資料(只不過是網路列印下來的表格/獎勵金申請辦法/入學申請辦法/通告) 通通碎掉! 我回到碎紙機前, 還是不忍心,就拿剪刀把所有有字的地方剪掉, 剩下完全空白的紙(一大疊), 我不介意size, 能用就好.整理完畢, 應該可以拿回去用了吧? 姐姐還是說, 全部碎掉, 你不想碎就丟回收箱, 不能拿走, 你要紙, 姐姐這裡有, 這些通通丟了!我解釋說我就是捨不得用新的紙, 即然這些紙沒人要了, 我可以用, 我不介意. 不過, 任我再三強調這些紙都已經沒有資料了, 都空白的, 姐姐也看到是空白的, 她還是硬要我碎掉. 真搞不懂!!!還嗆我, "喔這些東西你怎麼看得那麼細?"

我連紙都救不回...

Weekend preparing IS week

8am to 10 pm, we were busy working on the cut-and-paste work for IS week. There goes our first weekend of May. Free ice-cream, late meals, youtube videos, music, paper, glue and cutter. Many came to help with our work. More than I've expected. 韻芹,怡秀, 芳瑜, 欣睿, 欣寧, Jennifer and her "免費勞工@Guinea pig", Terrence, George, 宜萍, 凌凌, Evelyn, Julie, 怡甫, 緯玲, 張詢 ,采璇, Khai Jing, 浩偉, 家俊, 雯婷,柳萱, 毖穎...and the eldest among all...耀群阿公 & 雅如阿嬤 ,who gave us a lot of ideas and suggestions, helped us whenever we were in need. How lucky to have these two seniors helping us whole heartedly and caring for us! After 20 hours of working together, I've understand others better and discovered some of their talents! Although I was tired after working for such long hours, I am glad that there is still a bond between all of us. The way we cared for each other makes me feel like home. One of my classmate passing by even gave me a small piece of cake (free food from other activity). I was overwhelmed. It's not about the cake, it's about the rare happening of being noticed by my classmates. Only a "加油", no flowery words or sentences like others usually did, but I can feel that it was truly a wish from heart. ^ ^Another good part was, we have local students helping us! Hope this week will go well, especially the "Prom Night".

國際學生週要到了...海報 , 邀請卡, 票, 宿舍傳單, 五天的場佈設計, 宣傳週.....哇.....我的期中考還沒結束啊...還好宣傳有好友相助...= ) 不過一連幾天都在用PS, 自己又摸出一些新的effects用法了^ ^ 雖然用新發現的方法設計沒被採用...呵呵...至少有收穫, 自己有成就感

中庭的佈置, 是一串串的彩色正方形, 製成窗簾樣, 主題用馬賽克的方式拼出來. 想像的時候, 跟畫出來後的感覺不太一樣, 開始擔心 : 中庭會不會變得很暗? 尤其是第一天開佈典禮的佈置. 可能中間那塊玻璃用燈籠紙? 或中間不要放"窗簾", 只用正方形的燈籠紙拼出主題字就好?

A dream before anatomy mid-term test

Scene 1
I was in a friend's house, ready to go for a shower. The bathroom was built outdoor, almost the same size as the computer classroom in length, half it's width. (The friend's house doesn't look like that in reality). Someone started nagging me from inside of the house, at the window. Another person staring at me from the house, just a little further away from the window. Gee, so uncomfortable.

Scene2
My friend and I were on a park bench at the peak of a high, rocky mountain, during sunset. Just the 2 of us in such deserted place.(cool huh?)we have a mountain bike and a jeep nearby.(I wonder why there was a bike when we have a jeep?)

Scene 3
I woke up and found my friend lying on the lower right corner of my bed, smoking, holding a packet of made-in Little-India(an area in my hometown) cigarette.
I said: " What? You smoke?"
My friend replied :" Yea...no harm..just for a little..."
Then my friend got up and stepped on my roomate's bed and grab some belongings on the shelf(little bottles that looked like shampoobottles given in hotels), putting then in a bag.
" Since when you have your things here?"
"Ming Wei helped me to get them in here."
"How did you came in?"
My friend put on the "camouflage" , swaggered out of my room , giving me that let-me-show-you-how look.
Turning left after reaching the entrance of pantry (heading towards the balcony of hostel), there's no route (in reality). But there's a wide footbridge with a lot of people lying on the floor. My friend hurried through and showed the permit of passing to the armed guard. I stopped my friend and asked what's this all about. My friend came back to me and started to explain where this people came from. "There was an incident that happened in April of XXXX year.... "
When "April" ,the forbidden word in the world of my dream was spoken, all those people lying on the floor became active and started dragging their feet, heading to the rooms of 6th floor.
Both of us were dumbstruck... they were zombies!!!We began chasing those zombies, trying to get them back to the bridge. The funny thing was, the zombies didn't even bother me. I yelled in mixed language, including Malay Language:" Hello, hoi! no! no!嘿!嘿!Here!Jangan buka, mari! sini!回來這裡! sini!..."smth like that.The zombies kept trying to open the doors of other girls' room. They were all along the corridoor(which looked like my secondary school's labs' in reality), some of them heard me but continued banging the doors. The situation was out of control....

The end. My roomate's alarmclock saved me from that chaos.

快樂的一天

今天早上的天氣好, 睡到自然醒, 去學校學 IHC染色. 在空蕩蕩的走廊上等呀等, 學長終於出現了, 雙手都拿著早餐, 竟然還能開門, 短褲拖鞋, 好像在家裡的樣子,匆匆的走來,真得好好笑XD

把切片移來移去, 等機器shake, 洗容器,shake,wait,shake, wait.....就這樣過了三個小時. 不過我一點都不覺的悶. 雖然看起來很serious, 想不到那麼大的一個人還sot sot dei 的 XD 也好啦, 不然如果正經八百, 很可怕, 壓力死了. 各位片仔19小時後再見, 至少還要陪著你們6小時!

學長知道我要去縣運, 做完了就一直叫我走, 剩下的他來收, adui 真不好意思. 艷陽下, 我騎著腳踏車往太昌走, 偶然發現 "建信街" 忍不住拍下來, 下次一定要給建信看, 花蓮有他的路! 到了太昌, 學長還請我們吃sushi. 印象最深的就是4維的那位200蝶的女生, 竟然游得比男生快1/4個50 m, 而且看起來就很輕鬆!!!太厲害了!!! @ o@悠閒的一個下午就這樣過了.

欣睿當媽開心成這樣喔!!!XD

我只比50蛙, 比第六名慢7秒. 不過學長說我應該有54秒, 因為笨笨的我不知道黃黃的那塊東西時計時器, 他說我碰太輕了,可能沒有感應到...原來那東西要大大力推....= = 不管啦, 反正54秒也沒獎拿, 沒差 ^ ^ 好玩就好, 哈哈!!

比賽結束, 才三點多, 原本開始下雨了,要回宿舍, 不過一下子又出太陽了, 所以我決定去介仁校區閒晃, 獎勵自己一下! 遇到Helen學姐, 12月從校本部圖書館調到介仁的姐姐(我不知道她叫什麼名,不過她人很好), 李彥廷, 還有好久不見, 叮嚀我 "小心喔" (路上小心) 的Alan學長.

I felt that we are usually prone to filter what we listen and what will go into our mind. It has become our habit that we explain others' words subjectively, only listen to what we like and ignore or criticize those statements that does not fit our own hypothesis. So how are people rational, actually?

I had a date with Cryostat (pic.) this whole afternoon.
My fingers were to work in its body at -22 degree Celcius.
3.5 plates of 30 micrometers' sections floating in PB were produced. They looked like pressed petals of flowers, so delicate and fragile. Cool! Enjoyed my time together with the friendly assistant who taught me with patience. However, people like me might get dehydrated. After everything's done, even breathing fresh air was being appreciated. I smell the scent of rain...

This evening while I was cycling to bike park, ready to go for swimming practice, I hung my bag on the handle bar of my bicycle. After a few seconds' ride, my bag was caught by the spokes, "sucked" and stuck in between the fork and wheel, which created an impact similar to a sudden brake of the front wheel. All of a sudden my bag was thorn and pool buoy was cut. Stuffs thrown out from the front basket, books scattered on the floor(nearly including me, if I was cycling at high speed). Lucky I was not hurt at all. ^ ^ At least I discovered a new function of my bicycle from this incident, that is, slicing! =P

Theft

I found the chocolate mint cake my aunt made for me had a hole yesterday afternoon, while I was going to share it with Bi Ying and Julie. Something made a hole through the wrapping and ate a little of the cake. We thought it was made by a rat or something as Bi Ying said that rats can make their way into the fridge. We cut the part of cake with hole, threw away, and ate the bits left. The remaining half of the cake should be clean as it was untouched. Khai Jing suggested that we bring it to Wen Ting's house so that she don't need to go buy a birthday cake for her. Good idea too, since this cake contains no preservative, its best to finish it fresh.This afternoon, while I check on my curry paste packets in the freezer, the envelopes wrapping the curry paste packets were thorn. Rats can only make hole, and I don't think rats would want to go into freezer, so this is definitely done by human!

Excited & Happy

Our room was still full of giggles until midnight, which I can't recall why we kept joking around. I started watching Da-ai Drama online with Bi Ying as we failed trying the TV's on each floor(2nd to 12th) in the girl's dorm. First day of class was quite free with only a 2-hour class. I'll be working together with "Einstein" in this class for the semester. I returned the NT$3000 payment for SCORE to Peter during break, which he had totally forgot about it. Spent half of the afternoon helping my room mates on their internet connection problem and we still can't fix anything. I am the only one in the room , able to go online. Meg called my laptop 無敵筆電 because no matter whose plug or whose IP my laptop uses, the connection works fine. XD Broken friendship seem to start rebuilding, better than I expected, so far. Glad that somebody's finally able to let go. Hope the healing gets better and back to the state of when we first met. That will be good enough for me, as long as I'm not the enemy.

        早上离奇的自然醒，时间是四点多。待一切准备就绪，便开车离开槟岛。早晨从槟威大桥上看槟城，好美啊⋯⋯暖阳唤醒了要过年的人们，晴空下，妈妈婆婆们应该已经开始忙了。接下来的这几天，槟岛的道路将会水泄不通，挤满来自外坡的车子。我陶醉在车窗外的晨曦中，直到看不见大桥，我就在行李堆旁昏睡过去了。
       一路上，南北大道北上的车子像密密麻麻的蚂蚁，车内急着回家的游子们一直都处于车龙中，用羡慕的眼神望着大道上飞驰南下的车子（that's us!)。到了吉隆坡，发现马路上的车子比平时少了很多，交通顺畅无比。
现在过年大家都贪方便，有些家庭逐渐脱离传统，很可惜。除夕夜是一家难得团圆的好时侯。回家吃团圆饭，即使是粗茶淡饭，只要能够吃妈妈或阿嬷亲手下厨的佳肴就是最幸福的了！若要我到再高级的餐厅吃山珍海味，我反而不会喜欢，只会觉得很没有意义。到饭店去吃自助餐，看着一盘盘被浪费的食物，空空的餐桌，分散的亲友，真搞不懂那些人怎么能吃得那么高兴。我向往的过年是传统单纯的过年。亲戚集聚一堂，朋友们互相拜访，长辈们享受子孙满堂的感觉，小辈们玩在一起，大家互相祝福，互相陪伴，快快乐乐的聊天喝茶吃家里做的糕饼，简简单单的，就很温馨了。许多人为了追求名利，却忘了家是什么，家人是什么。有些人回家，成天对着电脑，却不会多陪陪家人。有的更糟，说过年待在家很无聊，就连除夕都找朋友泡网咖。如果过年对着电脑，mp3, PSP 的时间多于你陪伴家人的时间，那就真的很可悲了。
   无论如何，祝福大家幸福安康，虎年快乐！！！

兩位不同的阿伯

昨天傍晚游泳池很多人。有一位穿棕色泳褲的Uncle（從遠處看到會以爲他沒穿褲）一下水，見我坐在泳池的角落（我必須等別人先游走才能游）就說：“喂，游啦，你坐在那邊做麽？呐，游他的旁邊啊（指向他正在游泳的朋友），他游很慢的。”
過一陣子，他突然向我喊“Hello, hello, 你叫什麽名？”
我目瞪口呆，他到底想干嘛？他的聲量引來了其他人的目光，兩位救生員也交頭接耳（他似乎常做這種事？），他一直問，我渾身不舒服，遲疑了片刻，擠出一個字。

扯了老半天，原來他想改正我游泳的姿勢，呼......
期他人他都不理，後來有三位大姐姐來了，他去跟她們搭訕，我快閃！過後他盯着人游泳的行爲令人有點不舒服，泳池裏的人也越來越多，我就走了。

今天早上，另一位胸前手臂有刺青,在那裏工作的阿伯也叫住我，說eh ah girl, stop,stop, 你踢水放鬆一點，不要那麽硬，你kicking 很ok了，全身kek deng deng很難走的，放軟能走快點。後來，他又叫住我一次，遞給我一個浮板。
“呐，看你那麽乖，那麽勤力練，這個給你練pulling, 你剛才到現在都一直在練kicking，現在換這個。這個我多餘的，送你，你要更勤力練啊，不可以懶惰哦！”
我很不好意思的接下，連聲謝了他，繼續練，阿伯繼續看他的報紙。

一連遇到兩位好心的阿伯，重溫這裡的人的熱情，感覺真好！我喜歡別人指正我的錯誤，只是，如果第一位阿伯直接指正我就好，不問東問西，我會更感激他的！我覺得自我表達能力很重要，否則會讓人誤會自己的一番好意。

It's in my blood having the habit of "aiyah, this still can use,丟掉可惜, keep it."and that particular thing will be stuck there for years or a decade. Digging within the heap of boxes and those "still-can-use" stuff, I found a lot of treasure (they're just trash to others). Bits of notes passed around friends during classes, messages, letters, cards, gifts.........even a few exercise books I used during primary school! Fragments of scenes rewinding in my mind as I enjoyed myself scanning through what all my friends wrote to me, and what I wrote, or drew. This happens annually. However, I think I shouldn't keep so many things anymore. What's the point of trapping dust? So this time, I'll have to say sorry to those belongings of mine. Bye bye ~ most of you will be going into recycle bins after this round. But some of you can stay to remind me about sweet moments happening long long ago. 生不帶來死不帶去，可我就是有這收藏癖，收一點點啦。=P

This evening while I was chatting with Banana on the phone, we suddenly realised that this is the 10th year since we both knew each other. Although we weren't together all the time, we never stopped contacting each other throughout these years! Wow, from 10 to 20! Look at this stupid girl typing here who was uncontented with her life and felt grumpy over some little matters occasionally during the past , when she's supposed to be happy for having great friends!

CNY is just around the corner. Its time to catch up with relatives, teachers and old friends! ^ ^

Swimming for the second day, under the hot sun. Total distance : around 1500m in about one and a half hour(I know its not enough. Our training is to swim around 6000m per day.) I saw a young lady who looked like 乃宣, swim very fast too. Hmm...fast swimmers must have that kind of look? Went to Gurney to meet Ming Wei. So happy that he got a promotion to a supervisor now. He was busy working, so I just walked around in the plaza.
What else have I done today? Cleared the fridge, solved the cacing words' problem in the computer( which I've never did so on my own without any advice),replaced my plus card, ate Char Koay Teow asnd ampela sui boei at 牛干冬(spotted Wei Hong and Mei Ling...shining..), ate porridge near Cititel, Guleng Peng in CRC, home cooked noodles, rolled oats (tastless+nuts). eat eat eat...^ ^Tasteless oats....the taste of home. XD Supposed to call Thin Wei to talk about going out watching Thaipusam celebration, but too late. Going to KL tomorrow and will be back on Sunday.

What it this means to you? Or does it mean anything? To me its another day with highly elevated air pollution.While everybody was busy rushing for countdown celebrations, my plan was to take a hot shower and sleep it through. But in the end I was trying pps for a friend, and it worked! It was 2009 when I last looked at my watch. The first time taken in 2010 was 12:05 am

I've been watching fireworks year after year. As I grew up, I became less interested with fireworks, although they do look nice. That's all, they are beautiful. What's more? People are shouting out loud that the earth is sick, raising banners of "stop pollution"and yet people were especially happy whenever watching the fireworks, hoping for more to come during the next second, not to mention the extra pollution created starting from the first second of the year. Why compete for the most long lasting or the most spectacular fireworks show ? What good will it bring to the earth?

At 6:05, while I started watching the sky bringhtening up, I wish the world a more peaceful and safer year ahead. Hualien's cloudy sky hid the fireball and smog covered the sleeping city quietly. I wonder what does the sky look like at home that time. Was it clean and colourful as it used to be? At 6:23am I heard the first siren of an ambulance rushing on the empty road. Well, I wish people in the hospital is less busy today.

To those people who feel hopeless in life, make a wish. There's still hope, no matter what happens. Wish you an easier life this year.

My days recently

Winter Solstice : Our room cooked peanut and black sesame seed flavoured "white erythrocytes", red bean soup, and BRANDIED. We shared with other girls in our class. Big chefs were Yating & Meg. I was the assistant. When we were ready, everyone rushed to the kitchen as if they haven't been eating for days. I mixed the three together, which makes them taste even better! Nice room mates, nice food.

Christmas was near, and this was what I did when I get bored of studying in the study room. Taking photographs of the light bulbs decorating the dorm and mosquito net.

This picture was taken on Thursday, before medical English final exam. Classroom A104. A103 has too much distractions, therefore unsuitable for final revision. I like sunlight ^ ^

Endoscope simulation practice went on. The one on the left was a mess. The last practice before Christmas is on the right, and it was perfect. New agar. ^ ^ Solid enough to make the beads bounce! XD

Spotted something which doesn't fly even though people went very near to it.

There was some sort of exhibition by Medical Informatics students, which was the only exhibition I have seen in TCU, that looked like a real exhibition the most.

Christmas Eve: The thermometer in the pool reads 14 degrees. That explained the emptyness of it. We did gym practice and three sets of aerobic exercise. I was in jeans. Since the next morning, aching muscles were my best friend, accompanying me through every second of this weekend. I went to the christmas party organized by Life Science students. Spectacular beer drinking contest! Notice the beer container used for the contest were 5-litres' oil container. A lot of pretty girls, mostly seniors, but it was raining on and off.

Meg is gifted in craftwork. She was busy making a birthday card for her mother for the whole afternoon until late night.

Christmas Day: Went to the Taiko Drum with 17 juniors. Without prior reservation, we waited outside the restaurant for nearly an hour, entertaining ourselves. A few of them scored 145 for the "basketball game". However, I ended up eating noodle with Yong-Qing and Shin Rui because we were afraid that we will be late for Miharasi meeting. Yong-Qing has a very responsible character, pure, kind hearted and not arrogant, although she was actually one or two years elder than me, which is special and rare, especially as a Taiwanese medical student. Glad to know her.

Sunday movie

Watched a movie with my room mate today. My Sister's Keeper. Genetic engineering, donor babies, cancer patients, fragmented family, truth hidden in a family which looks perfect from the outside, unwillingness to face the fact, and death of a person, which is normally negligible. Nothing changes. People just died. Realistic. However, Kate's death brought her family back to normal anyway, and they lived a better life after she's gone. That's a great contribution from her. Sickness does drag a family down to hell. Besides that, People visiting patients may seem to make patients look happier, but they did not, actually. Kate needs to pretend to accept the wishes and say yes to whatever the visitors say, even though she knew she's going away very soon. Stopping a suffering patient from going to the other world because of our own needs can be cruel sometimes. Instead of dying in pain and suffer, why not let them enjoy thier last moments and do whatever they want? Luckily the father insisted to bring the family to the beach. Kate had fought for so long, suffered so much, yet unafraid of death. Both the sisters were brave and smart. We should listen and care about what others feel. Everything is not just about ourselves. We can't stop the earth orbiting just because we want to.

Quake Quake

Last night while I was chatting with my room mate, I experienced the strongest quake since I came here. Some other girls on the same floor screamed like hell when the quake started. At first, I felt the floor was "vibrating" up and down. Then it grew stronger, laterally, that our ceiling fans and lamps swinged like pendulum. The fan on the inner side of our room swayed more than the one near the entrance. Both of us were staring at the one inside, worried if it will fall.
"Should we hide under the table?"
"Yes we should."
I went under the table, curled for a few seconds.
"Oh come on, get out of there, its not so serious."
When it ends, it was 21:03.
Soon after, the 教官started making announcements on and off. I don't think she had any sleep last night. XD Through the night, her voice kept giving us little shocks. She asked us to keep our doors open and pack our valuable belongings in a bag and get ready. 22:45, she made the last anouncement. Finally.

Earlier in the afternoon, I went for Campus Tourguide's Test. Cedric was my examiner for the oral test. I get to introduce the lobby of our University. Lucky I didn't get the Hunanity Classrooms.=P Cedric played foreign guest and I was to pretend meeting him for the first time and welcome him. He tried to confuse me when I was making the introduction. Luckily I knew the story and managed to explain. However, I forgot The College of Life Science when he asked me how many colleges are there in this University. He told me, other than that, he has nothing to complain about my performance. I take that as a pass! ^ ^ Yay!

Went dinner with the swimming team. At first we were going for hot woks. But no reservations made, so we have to go to another place. Luckily there was some veggie for me to eat. I filled myself with plenty of rice, with sauce of some dishes. The fried tofu was very delicious! The children of the senior look cute! But never be too kind to them. The little girl asked for Xin Jie's drink and spit out just for fun. Ponche shared the photos and videos they took during the hike at Taroko earlier that day. Wow!!! I should go for a hike there someday!!! The cliffs!!! COOL!!!

We will never know if we will live to see tomorrow. Anything could just happen. We should make full use of each second we have, and be grateful.

What a chilly morning, we were so reluctant to get up from our warm bed. So, we were late for biostat's class, kinda on purpose actually. We enjoyed our walk chit chatting in the rain and had bought breakfast before going into class. Naughty =P
Finally got my transaction done this evening!
satisfied with tonight's endoscope practice results: 56 secs each hand for the plank & cloth game( Hit my target!^ ^ ), 2mins 52secs right and 3mins 36 secs left for the agar game. Total of 3 holes on agar only!

考完生化了^ ^

這兩天晚上, 我嘗試11點就睡覺, 可是都不能. 我會餓到...不吃不行. 第一次突然爬起來馬上抓餅乾吃, 吃了好一會兒, 我室友叫我, " HY你在吃餅乾嗎?" "喔" " 吓到了, 還以為你在夢遊呢..." XD

昨天是璇的生日, 我做了一個東西掛在她房門口, 隔天早上這驚喜讓她可樂了! ^ ^ 中午, 她還有驚喜的蛋糕, ６位同學&素蘭媽媽為她慶祝. 素蘭媽媽請我們吃，　但因為要做健康檢查, 只能吃麵.就只是面, 菜都不能...更不用說是蛋糕了....她許了願　我希望她能天天快乐，愿望早日实现！

剛游泳回來, 一個圖都還沒看完, 瞌睡蟲就來了.雖然冬天在冷水池內游泳有一種特別的感覺, 能讓你精神百倍, 唇指發紫, 抽筋發抖, 手腳發麻, 起雞皮疙瘩....(試試看就知道, 我都嘗過了)沒小睡一下還真是沒精神繼續做其他事情.

今天游泳後, 用最熱的水洗澡, 感覺就好像在為冷凍庫拿出的食物解凍一樣. 水再熱, 還是覺得冷. 可能今天特別冷吧, 終於抽筋了, 指尖也都發麻. 貢丸沒看過我這種抽筋, 一直笑. 腳板拇指抽筋按摩就可以了, 大腿抽筋要把腳折起來往後有手拉著. 游仰, 蛙, 捷三式, 很開心教練教了很多, 改了很多. 孟庭也教我仰式. 記錄一下, 學到仰式整個人會左右轉動, 手要伸直靠頭後, 手進水時是小指先進, 大約一點或十一點的角度, 腳要踢大一點, 要直, 肚子要挺起來, 划水時手在水面上要直, 在水裡要彎, 往下推,要划深一點. 蛙式分解, 第二次踢腳後, 腳合併了才起來呼吸, 呼吸完手伸直, 才踢第一次腳.自由式分解, 往後划一下,呼吸,頭回水裡後, 手才去前面. 跳水, 還是不行, 總是縮著身體掉下水.

我久違的熨斗回家了, 還帶了小禮物 ^ ^ 好喜歡~ 學到如何讓熨斗內的水變干.

今天等生統討論開始的時候, 突然想起了我暑假時瘋狂追看的連續劇. 上網找一下, 阿好多照片喔!! 這就是我認為劇中最最最帥帥帥的人了!!! ^ ^ 一堆看不完的照片, 看到....哇......心情就好....=P 沒想到我也有花癡的一面吧? 劇中演他女朋友的也很漂亮, 兩個明星搭配起來就很自然好看! ^ ^ 在此分享一下, 呵呵...

今天,風很大的一天

要出門前,看到一對學長姐, 帶著每個人都討厭的那隻校狗, 想要讓它上車.應該是要帶它去醫院吧. 之前也看過他們帶"無尾熊"回來宿舍.那隻狗看起來應該有病, 又受傷.那隻狗不肯上車, 還吠他們. 他們倆個人不時抬頭起來看我. 我一直看她們是因為我覺得很難得有人會去接近那只狗,佩服他們愛狗的精神.話說, 這裡學生很有愛心. 這, 我想也要看是甚麼狗. 因為黑嘴跟這隻狗(連名字都沒有)所受到的待遇有差.後來我也不知道他們有沒有成功, 希望有. 他們真是...精神可嘉!

剪頭髮回來,我當然會拍照啦~就在我自拍時, 可愛的詠尹剛好進來以為我在視訊, 我說我在自拍, 她馬上過來 :" 我也要拍! 我也要拍!"

哈哈! 就這樣啦, 她眼睛還特地張大大呢! XD
